The via Durini installation showcases the full potential of the flexible, ever-changing b3 system. Available in a range of widths, heights and depths, materials, surface finishes and colors, the various elements can be combined in any number of ways. No two bulthaup kitchens are the same. And not only because each one is designed and manufactured in line with the unique requirements, lifestyles and traditions of the family, couple or individual in question. But also because people leave their own personal stamp on their kitchen: they use the space, live their lives in it, and make it their own by adding items over time. With this in mind, the exhibition includes a selection of accessories and utensils, arranged according to the function they serve: preparation, cooking, presentation, storage and washing.

People develop relationships with the objects that surround them. They collect items from past and present, from many different places, and in a wide variety of styles – and this phenomenon is influencing current debates about the kitchen and living space. It is prompting interior designers to change the way they think, rework designs and devise a whole range of new ideas. Ideas like the one-of-a-kindpanel wall, a fresh twist on the multifunction wall, where both the interior and exterior serve distinct purposes. Personal objects – from valuable heirlooms to contemporary objets d'art – can be stored and displayed in the space behind the panel. Specially cherished items can be showcased in an open-fronted brass cube, which can be positioned freely on the horizontal plane. Or in another part of the wall, the panels slide open vertically with a gentle touch. And a look in the wide pull-out below reveals functional prisms lined with saddle leather, where a selection of fine wines, spirits and drinking glasses are displayed.
